1. Historical location
Our hotel is located in front of the Bay of Matavai, which is the place where Tahiti’s first events of modern history occurred. From Wallis to Bligh, it is right here that the first European explorers in search of Terra Australis landed, followed by a clash between ancient maohi and modern western cultures.
2. The longest natural sandy beach
Lafayette Beach is well known for its majestic tropical surroundings. Its black and very fine sand is used in spas around the world for its exfoliating properties and its mineral wealth.
3. Sanctuary for humpback whales
From July to November, the Bay of Matavai is a safe haven for humpback whales. You can watch them in the morning from the balcony of your room, while having a meal at the Hiti Mahana Restaurant or sipping a drink at the Bay Bar.
Year round, from your balcony terrace or during breakfast time at the restaurant, watch hundreds of wild dolphins playing in the Bay of Matavai.
5. Invigorating swim in the Pacific Ocean
The hotel directly looks out onto the Pacific Ocean. The quality of the water is excellent, and it is even said that the last Queen of Tahiti came very often to swim in the bay for the purity and calming qualities of its water.
6. Rooms with a view
All of the hotel’s rooms offer unhindered view on the Ocean and the Matavai bay. We strongly recommend staying in a Premium category for its panoramic views of Tahiti's sister island, Moorea, as backdrop.
7. Awarded Spa
The Spa of the Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort is well known for the quality of its natural treatments providing all the benefits of Tahiti’s glories (fruit, plants, sand etc…). Relaxation is guaranteed.
